SOUTHERNERS BRING BAND TO PLAY AT TODAY'S GAME

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

One-eighth of Davidson's student body of 600 will be here today for the game, in the form of 60 members of the band and 24 of the football squad. The band, which has played regularly over the Southern Network, last night topped its career by broadcasting on the Pontiac Hour over the National Broadcasting Company's network.

Those members of the band of 85 who were chosen to make the trip to Soldiers Field left Davidson, North Carolina, Thursday morning, stopping over at Baltimore, Maryland, and New York for concerts. The band specializes in such novelty numbers as cotton-picking songs and apple-shaped formations.
