With an average of four inches of new snow falling throughout New Hampshire and Vermont yesterday, skiing prospects are good for the weekend, providing the weather remains the same. According to latest reports, however, rain and a rise in temperature is expected.
In Whitefield, New Hampshire, a four inch powder fell on a one inch snow base. Mount Whittier reported three and a half inches' now fall on a two inch base. It was still snowing hard at both places when they were last heard from.
Skling was good on open slopes at Plymouth, with four inches of powder atop a two inch base. Mount Mansfield reported seven inches of powder, and Pinkham Notch five.
Canada's Laurontian Mountains have received falls of new snow ranging from nine to twenty-four inches.
