SEXTET WINS 17TH VICTORY WITH 5-2 WIN OVER QUEENS

New Third Line Adds Drive and Color in Triumph; Jameson and Mahoney Aid Winning Team

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Scoring three of the five goals tallied by the victorious Crimson sextet, the third line of Patrick, Pope, and Jameson led the Stubbsmen to a 5-2 win over Queens College for their seventeenth straight triumph, at the Boston Garden last night.

Queens opened the scoring late in the opening period after their goalie had turned back Crimson attacks that seemed time and time again due for a score. Again and again Joe Patrick set up plays which came within an inch of scoring, but did not materialize until the last frame when Win Jameson and Ralph Pope each dented the twine after Patrick setups.

Halfway through the third period with Poupore off the ice for a board check, the Crimson put on a power play which resulted in Gene Emerson tangling with Munro. Shortly afterwards Russ Allen joined the others in the pen for a leg check, but neither team capitalized on the break.

Pope Spark Plug

Easily the outstanding man on the ice with his two goals and an assist, Ralph Pope was the spark which drove the newly formed third line to its brilliant display of hockey. Captain George Ford, although he did not figure in the scoring, was again ragging the puck all over the ice and keeping the vaunted Queens attack from getting started.
