William J. Simmons '39, a transfer student from Lincoln College in Baltimore, was elected King of the Wellesley Snow Carnival after a long and hard fought election Saturday night.

A jury of eight Wellesley undergraduates selected him as one of the ten finalists, he was then chosen by four Seniors, all engaged and therefore regarded as unprejudiced, and was crowned with a blue Wellesley ski cap by Gwendoline Wilder, president of the Wellesley Athletic Association.

After parading the ten competitors through the ball room, the Big Four concluded that Simmons possessed a perfectly proportioned face. Their decision was based on the results of tape measures, but their standards were not revealed.
