YOUNG CONSERVATIVES TO HEAR G. L. K. SMITH

Huey Long's Pal, Head of "Committee Of 1,000,000," Youth Movement, Will Speak Here March 16

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Gerald L. K. Smith, whom H. L. Mencken once called the "master of masters of all epics, ancient or modern, and Aristotle, Johann Sebastain Bach, and all orators, dead or alive," will address the Young Conservatives on March 16.

Smith, who was a friend of Louisiana's Huey Pierce Long and has been accused of having fascist leanings, will speak in the New Lecture Hall at an hour to be announced later.

Although the precise subject of his speech is not known, Smith heads an organization known as the "Committee of 1,000,000," which is dedicated "To Save America! For God and Country!" according to advance publicity. One of its chief aims is "To instill a new spirit in American Youth, dedicated intellectually and physically to the maintenance of American institutions." But the program also "covers the entire sphere of our national life."

Among the groups which support the Committee are the Col. Aron Ogden Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Yale Club of New York, and the Brooklyn Kiwanis Club.
