DETROIT--Wendell L. Willkie warned wives, mothers, and teachers tonight that the nation "has become infected with cynicism" and called on them "to rekindle the faith of our young people."
"Thousands of our youth, who have lost faith in other people, have formed Communist groups, and have received encouragement from high places," the G.O.P. Presidential nominee said.
