WILLISTON CLUB WINS IN SEMI-FINAL OPENER
Root Club Loses Decision in Debate At Langdell Hall Court Room in Ames Competition
The Williston Club earned the decision over the Root Club last night at the Langdell Hall Court Room in the first of the semi-final arguments of the Ames competition.
This evening at 8 o'clock the Parsons Club will compete with the Edward Warren Club in the second semi-final argument. The winner of this engagement will meet the Williston Club in January for the finals of the Ames competition.
William H. Fleming and Richard G. Hershey argued for the winning Williston Club; Hans R. Frey and Stanley Johnson, representing the Root Club, furnished the opposition.
A special feature of last night's argument was that Judge Florence E. Allen, of the United states Circuit Court of Appeals, served as Chief Justice.
Winning the Ames competition is one of the great honors in the Law School.
