CLASS COMMITTEE APPOINTS JUNIOR USHER CHAIRMAN

Douglas Mercer and Philip Neal Also Named to Assist in Arrangements for Ceremonies

With 80 invitations to members of the Junior Class to serve as Commencement ushers in the mail, the appointment of Frederick Holdsworth '40, as head usher, was announced yesterday by the Class Day Committee.

Named to assist Holdsworth are Douglas Mercer '40 and Philip C. Neal '40. Holdsworth lives in Eliot House; Morcer in Winthrop; and Neal in Dunster. These three head ushers have already signified their willingness to serve.

The Class Day Committee is also sending post-cards out to other Juniors. Replies, which are being received in the office of the Purchasing Agent in Lehman Hall, will be announced sometime next week.

The naming of the Junior Ushers completes the appointments for Commencement ceremonies, with the exception of the Ivy Orator. The Orator will be chosen by May 17.

The ushers will have charge of escorting people to seats and arranging most of the fetes for the graduating class A year ago, 63 Juniors assisted at Commencement.
