Tennis Champ Lowman Upset By Jenkins

Unseeded Jim Jenkins, top man on last year's Yardling tennis team, dazzled University netman yesterday when he upset second-seeded and defending champion George Lowman in a thrilling three set duel to enter the quarter finals of the University fall tennis tournament.

Forced on account of darkness to stop at 4-4 in the third set Monday, they played the match over again yesterday. After tying the score in the last set 5-5, Jenkins finally managed to outdistance his opponent 7-5.

Ellis Upset

By far the most interesting matches thus far have been Lindley Burton's upset victory over Russ Ellis, former first man on his Freshman team, and Bart Harvey's win over Don Daniels of last year's Yardling aggregation.

With the exception of Lowman, the three other favorites are running true to form. Al Everts, seeded first in both tournaments, defaulted to his classmate Bill Eustis, in the Freshman division, in order to concentrate on the University scramble.
