Student Council Hopes To Sponsor Book Plan

Source Material on War May Be Put At Disposal of House Libraries

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A set of 70 books containing source material on the causes of the Second World War may be put at the disposal of each House library and of the Freshman libraries if the proposed plans of the Student Council go through.

The only thing standing in the way of securing the books is a lack of financial support, according to a statement made yesterday by Langdon P. Marvin, Jr., president of the Council.

Complete Statement

Marvin's complete statement follows:

"The Student Council is hoping to sponsor and educational plan which we believe is to the interest of all the students.

"About 70 books on the War, selected by officials of Widener Library so as to include much valuable source material and all points of view on the war, are to be placed in the libraries of all the Houses and of all educational centers if the University and the Council raise sufficient funds."
