Seventeen awards, totalling $6,450, for study during the present academic year, were announced by Harvard University today, as follows:

Bayard Cutting fellowship for research in physics to Baldwin R. Curtis, Research Fellow in Physics at Harvard.

Fellowship of the Harvard-Yenching Institute to David L. Osborn 2G, of Hamburg, Ark.

Arthur Lehman fellowship to Joseph L. Sullivan 2G, of Beaumont, Tex.

Townsend scholarship and University fellowship to Reinhold S. Schumann 1G, of Racine, Wis.

University fellowship to George S. Phalen' 2G, of Binghampton, N.Y.
