One of the oldest forensic clashes in the country will occur again this year when Harvard and Yale meet in a formal debate at 8 o'clock this Friday evening in Emerson D.
It will be the forty-fifth annual home-and-home affairs with the Crimson taking the negative and the Blue the affirmative of the subject: "Resolved, That the United States should declare war immediately upon Germany," Speaking for the home forces will be Harold Ballen '43, Theodore Baer '44, and Arthur Northrup '42.
At New Haven the same evening Harvard will take the affirmative with William C. Murphy '42, Thomas J. O'Toole '42, and Payson Wolff '42 taking the rostrum. The chairman of the debate is Eward Rowe, ex-coach of the Harvard Debating Council.
