With a conference in Washington and America as their goal, 20 undergraduates have already signed up for the national discussion contest on Inter-American affairs.

Due to the intervention of the holiday, the deadline for registration has been extended to today. It is hoped, however, that the number of applicants will be limited to 30.

According to details announced yesterday by Frederick C. Packard, Jr. '20, associate professor of Public Speaking, the contest will take the form of three round tables of ten men each, to meet on March 5. From each of these groups, two men will be chosen to represent the University in the district conference to be held yearly in April.

In order that every man may have an equal chance of being selected, the candidates will be divided in such a way that each group will have a representation of natives of South America, concentrators in Latin-American affairs, and men with special public-speaking ability.
