Despite the absence of Tom Mountain, former Princeton football captain, who is the team's high scorer, the Harvard Rugby Club took the measure of the Queens Club 13 to 3 last Sunday in New York. The victory completed a successful weekend schedule, since the Crimson had previously scored a win over a strong Yale team.
Leading scorer in Sunday's game was Barney Ferguson, who was responsible for two trios. Davies Ives also scored once, while Frank Swirles added to the total by converting after two of the goals. Marsh Holleb, although he did not score, was influential in setting up the tallies by his hard running throughout the contest.
The Crimson ruggers had a shutout within reach until the Queens Club, bottled up by the Harvard forwards during most of the game, pushed over their single score late in the last period. The victory enabled the club to remain in a tie for second place with Yale in the Eastern Rugby Union League. Princeton, which handed the Crimson its first defeat in three years two weeks ago, is still at the top of the standings.
