HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
Professor Henry W. L. Dana will give an illustrated lecture on "Theatres and Films in the Soviet Union" in the Large Lecture Hall of the Fogg Art Museum today at 4 o'clock.
In addition, pictures will be shown on the screen depicting the drama of a Russia at war: war-plays, performances for the soldiers at the front, the latest productions in the Soviet theatres, the maintenance of morale, the loyalty of the Soviet people to their country, and their unity in their war for liberation.
Mr. Dana, Ph.D., '10, at Harvard, has taught at the University of Paris and at Columbia. After making a special study of the drama in American and in the various countries of Europe, he spent much of the last fifteen years in Russia. Based on his study of the theatres, plays, operas, ballets, and films there, is his "Handbook on Soviet Drama."
