HEATH IS COUNCIL PRESIDENT; '46 WILL HOLD SPRING JUBILEE

Dance Committee to Be Elected Tuesday

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Class of 1946 will take its last official crack at a good time for the duration with the presentation of the Jubilee "sometime in April," Frank S. Whiting '46, chairman of the Freshman Committee, announced last night.

Tryouts for all those interested in the Jubilee Committee will be held Wednesday night at 7:15 o'clock in the Eliot House Common Room, where men will fill out cards stating their qualifications for committee membership.

From the list of candidates a slate of 30 men will be drawn up by Friday and the Class will vote on the men Tuesday. If a student finds it impossible to attend the meeting, he should hand in his name to Whiting in Lowell H-11 before Wednesday night. Petitions signed by at least 25 men should also be submitted to Whiting in his room.

Locations Considered

Probably the last effort to rebuild class unity, the Jubilee, traditional Yardling formal, will be held at a date as yet unannounced, Whiting stated last night. Possible considerations of locations for the dance were the Indoor Athletic Building, Lowell House dining room, Memorial Hall, or any other suitable large hall.

"We're trying to make it something big," was Whiting's comment on this war version of the '45 Jubilee, which had featured the voice of Benay Venuta plus and added attraction in the "Battle of Bands,"--a musical tug of war between two orchestras for the benefit of about 300 couples.
