Captain-elect Dick Mechem and goalie Goodie Harding of the Crimson sextet were the only non-Dartmouth men selected for the all-Pentagonal League hockey team, announced yesterday by the Associated Press after a poll of the league's coaches.

Mechem, speedy defenseman, was both an offensive and defensive weapon for Coach Johnny Chase last winter, in the most successful ice season enjoyed by the Harvard six since the days of Austie Harding. Mechem's potent body-checks and frequent solo sorties made him a man to be feared throughout the circuit.

Harding, brother of the renowned Austie, shared goalie honors on the all-League first team with Dartmouth's Al Barrett. The Crimson net-minder turned in a series of amazing performances during the winter, foremost of which were the jobs against Dartmouth, in the hectic three games played between the Indians and the Varsity, and the three game series against Yale, two of which the Crimson won.

The rest of the all-League selections were monopolized by Dartmouth, which won its sixth consecutive Pentagonal title, although the Crimson's 4 to 4 tie late in the season ended a 32-game winning streak for the Green.

The entire first line of Bill Harrison, Dick Rondeau and Billy Riley, generally regarded as the best in collegiate ranks, was named by the six league coaches, who also selected defenseman Hall Cannon, Indian football and hockey star, and goalie Barrett.
