Harvardians in Armed Forces Now Number Over 21,000

Harvard men in the armed forces now number 21,815, the University announced today. The known deaths are 217, while 45 are missing in action, and 35 are prisoners of war.

Former students here are now serving in the Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, American Field Service, and in the armed services of out allies. The dead include 110 in the Navy, 67 in the Army, 8 in the Marine Corps, 4 in the Coast Guard and the remainder in other branches of the American, British, and Canadian armed forces.
