Coach Richard Dorson's Varsity tennis team finally broke into the win column last Saturday with a 5 to 2 victory over the Phillips Academy, at Andover. The Crimson will try to make it two in a row tomorrow afternoon when they face an invading squad from Camp Endicott at the courts at Soldiers Field.
Number one man Jack Lynch, of V-12, went to three sets to defeat Tom Raleigh of Andover, 6-2, 9-11, 6-2. Second seeded Gene Sands, also of V-12, took his match from Kittleman, 8-6, 9-7.
In the other singles matches, Henry Moulton of the NROTC was defeated by Kiam of Andover, 2-6, 6-4, 6-2; fourth seeded Don Willner topped Chapin, 4-6, 6-2, 7-5' Milton Stearns of the NROTC took Griener, 6-0, 6-1; and Ed Slater lost to Andover's Estin.
