C, E MAY MEET IN TITLE GAME

The softball intramural league came to its official close Friday when Company C, the champions, lost what was then thought as an unimportant game to the NROTC 5 to 2. Even though the game was supposed to have no bearing on the final standings, something now has arisen that may change the whole complexion of the finish.

At the end of the game last Friday, Company C had a record of six wins and one loss. Its nearest rival, Company E, showed five victories and two defeats, one of these defeats being a forfeit to Lowell House. E asked Lowell to re-play the game that they lost on a forfeit and the Bellboys agreed. The game was played yesterday afternoon, and to the

surprise of no one, Company E walked off with the victory, 10 to 2. If this game is counted as official, then both Companies C and E will be tied for first place.

The man who had the say as to the legality of the game was Chief Paul Dunlop and he could not be reached yesterday for comment. If he decrees the games as official, C will meet E tomorrow afternoon for the crucial game. If the game does not count in the standings, C will be the undisputed champs. At any rate final standings will be published in the next issue of the SERVICE NEWS.

One of the main reasons for E's high finish is the fact that their pitcher, warren Proud foot, has pitched some very nice ball games for his mates. Members of the E team swear by him, and say that he is a better pitcher than C's Ronald Wright. The spirit of the E contingent is also very high. If Chief Dunlop declares that yesterday's game was official, and rumor has it that he will, the encounter on Wednesday will prove to be will worth watching.

Baseball is scheduled to start on an intramural basis the latter part of this week. Four games a week will be scheduled and the competition will be run on more or less the same basis as was the softball
