Seminar Officials Will Accept Applications Starting Today; Conference Runs Six Weeks

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Applications for teaching assistantships with the Salzburg Seminar in American Civilization will be accepted from qualified graduate students and graduating seniors beginning today, the Seminar executive committees announced last night.

Although transportation will be arranged, assistants will be expected to pay their own travelling expenses. Minimum cost would be about $400, Richard D. Campbell '48 of the executive committee said.

Six Week Stay

Men selected will be official staff members, leading informal discussion groups to supplement the conference lectures. They will be quartered in the Castle Leopoldskron during the six week Seminar that begins on July 15.

Applicants must be concentrators in American history, government, literature, sociology, or specialists in American economics, Campbell said. 'They should have broad interests, be able to talk, and have the desire to learn, as well as teach," he added.

Full particulars on educational and professional background must accompany every application. They should be sent to the Executive Committee at Phillips Brooks House before the April 16 deadline, Campbell stated.
