A recent addition to the collection of sculpture at the Fogg Art Museum is a statue of the Virgin and child--the gift of J.V. Demotte--which has been placed in the sculpture gallery on the ground floor. The statue is a work of the French School of the sixteenth century, dating probably between 1520 and 1525.

Interesting loans from Dr. D. W. Ross '75 which have been placed in the cases in the Ross corridor are a Chinese bowl of rare delicacy and beauty, dating from the Lung period; four Persian tiles and two fragments of Persian pottery; four places of Chinese carved agate dating probably from the XVIII century; and a Chinese scepter probably of Jude, and dating also from the XVIII century.

Dr. Ross also made a recent gift of a Corean painting of the XV century which has been placed in the upper corridor.
