According to comparative scores, historical indications, and the condition of the Crimson players, the Varsity soccer team should find this afternoon's contest with Tufts more of scoring drill than a tight game.
The Jumbos and the Crimson play at 3 p.m. on the Business School field.
The Tufts eleven opened into season this year by losing, 7 to 0, to Amherst, a team which the Crimson later blanked, 3 to 0. The Jumbos then dropped a 5 to 0 affair to the University of Connecticut, and finally, last Saturday, scored their first goal and beat Fort Devens, one of the weakest teams in this area, by a 1 to 0 score.
In recent years, the Tufts booters have made a habit of losing to Harvard, although during the war--with the aid of a talented West Indian forward--they made two games close. This year, however, they have no West Indians on their team.
Coach Bruce Munro's charges suffered no permanent ill effects from their 3 to 0 victory over Army last weekend although several squad members were bruised in the contest. Right wing Jon Spivak, who sustained a slight concussion at West Point, has been declared ready to play by the medical department.
