Varsity squash players moved as far as the quarter-finals in the weekend's national squash team championships, beating a Worcester outfit be-before bowing to Philadelphia, the unit which went on to win the tourney.
In the opening round, the racquet squad trimmed the Worcester team 4 to 1 at the University Club, with all Crimson players except George Stevens pushing by their rivals by commanding margins.
Things were reversed when the squad faced the Quakers in the afternoon, when the strong Philadelphia crew took a 4 to 1 match. Stevens saved the squad from a shutout, shattering his opponent's return by the crushing strength of his shots.
