Yardling Track Coach Pirnie Calls for Men

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Freshman track mentor Doug Pirnie, faced with a serious manpower shortage, issued an urgent call for men yesterday afternoon. "We have no quarter-milers, pole vaulters, or javelin throwers," he said, and few good men in other events.

There are 15 to 20 men out for Yardling track now, Pirnie continued, but "even if men doubled up in some events, we would need at least 30 more men to build a team." The season will be over early enough to allow men on the squad plenty of time to study for finals.

The first meet is tentatively scheduled for April 10, against the B.C. freshmen, and contests with B.U., Andover, Exeter, and Yale will follow.
