Kirkland Spirit Strong

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Never too busy to have a good time and always willing to work for something it wants, Kirkland House, many say, most nearly represents the true essence of House spirit as it was conceived some 17 years ago when the House system was inaugurated.

Under Master Mason Hammond '25, professor of Greek and Latin and of History, the Deacons from a spirited unit, and probably, more than any other group of students, they are proud of their House. Its esprit de corps makes Kirkland much more than just a place to eat, sleep, and hang your hat.

This aura of friendliness and enthusiasm manifests itself in more ways than one. Annually it charts out through the various House committees, and winds up in House forums, amateur theatricals, recitals, and refresher courses.

To top off everything, the Deacons' present traditional Nocturnal Collations (monocled beerfests) and publish the only House yearbook.

Library is Unique

Something else which distinguishes Kirkland is its unique library, which consists of three stories of individual rooms set aside for separate fields, facilitating speedy book-binding.
