BLC Comes in For Lacrosse Opener Here

Visitors May Win on Edge in Experience

The Boston Lacrosse Club is really just a group of former college starts who still enjoy playing the old Indian game. On Saturday, whenever they find the time and the inclination, its members take on one of the local college squads. Today at 2:30 o'clock the BLC is slated to meet Bob Maddux' varsity lacrosse team on the Business School Field, and strangely enough nearly all the BLCers find the time and the inclination to take on Harvard.

At the same time, the freshmen take the field against the Big Green of Deerfield Academy at Deerfield.

That the Boston team has a big edge in stickhandling and the number of individual stars cannot be denied. What they don't have is teamwork and condition. Everyone in the BLC has a regular job, and cannot get together with the others to practice or even just to get himself in shape.

A Question of Numbers

If BLC shows up with 25 or 30 players, Crimson chances will be pretty slim. If they appear with but 15 or 20, the Varsity will run them into the ground.

A crop of injuries sprang up in the last three days and again threatens the Crimson's midfield depth, a problem which on Wednesday had seemed completely solved.

The starting lineup: Bernard, g; Snow, pt; Graham, cp; Forsyth, 2d; Withington, 1d; Estin, c; Lang, 2a; Chamberlain, 1a; Abbot, oh; Gregg, ih.
