Williams to Read His Poetry Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

William Carlos Williams, noted author and physician, will give a reading of his poetry at 5 p.m. today in Emerson Hall. The reading will be under the auspices of the Morris Gray Poetry fund and will be open free of charge to the public.

Williams, who is considered an outstanding imagist poet, is the author of "Paterson, I & II," "Al Quo, Quiere," "In the American Grain," and "White Mule."

He was one of the first poets to devise odd typographical settings for his works, often putting one word on a line. Williams believes in clear language, strong images, and complete freedom in the choice of subject matter.
