Information on American student life will be collected here and distributed to foreign students by a new organization called the International Student Information Service, William R. Polk '51, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Student Council announced last night.
Realization of the need for this service grew out of a series of reports made recently at the New England Regional Conference of the National Student Association. Four university students who made studies of the problem in various parts of the world spoke to the group.
Polk took the research trip through the Middle East, James P. Grant 3L analyzed the situation in South East Asia, Frank Fisher '47 made a study of the Yugoslavian youth problems, and Robert Fischelis '49 directed a German student seminar in Frankfort last summer.
Meeting briefly last night, the Student Council decided to discuss four topics at its first meeting of the year with Provest Buck at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow: (1) faculty ratings; (2) the future of football here; (3) the proposed Varsity Club; (4) attendance of women in Lamont Forum Room.
