"Planning in a Free Society" is the topic of a conference to be held by the Student League for Industrial Democracy from 2 to 6 p.m. today in Emerson D. M. J. Coldwell, a Canadian Common-wealth Federation member of the Dominion Parliament and Arthur M. Schlesinger, Jr. '38, associate professor of History, are featured speakers.

Followin the two addresses and a question period, the conference will be divided into four smaller groups, stressing student participation. Topics discussed will be "The Role of Trade Unions in a Planned Society," "How Much Nationalization is Necessary for Effective Planning?", "What Changes in Political Structure Are Necessary for Effective Planning?", and "The Role of Government in Social Services."
