NSA Adds Europe Travel Facilities

The National Student Association last night announced the availability for lowcost student travel this summer of an ex-Norwegian troopship and the Dutch Airlines (KLM).

Robert Stern '50 of the College unit of the N.S.A. explained that his organization had undertaken to procure cheap travel accommodations for students in the face of unprecedented demand and after the recent withdrawal by the government of the Marine Tiger and Marine Jumper, which carried hundreds of students to Europe last year.

Under the present plan, the Svalbard, a vessel owned by Norway and leased to the International Refugee Organization, will leave New York for Rotterdam or Le Havre on June 22, returning to New York by September 10.

The ship can carry 800 students. Cost is $310 round-trip.

KLM, which is also cooperating with the N.S.A. in providing low-cost summer travel for students, will offer scheduled flights to Holland on June 14 and 15 and early in July. The 160 spaces will be disposed of on a first-come, first-served basis, Stern said. Total cost is $310 round-trip.
