Dudley's Jack Donolan weathered a last-inning threat yesterday afternoon to give his team a five-hit, 4 to 2 win over Winthrop. A triple by Don Cass and two singles enabled the Commuters to overcome an early deficit and tie the game in the fourth before adding single tallies in the fifth and sixth for the winning margin.
BobWoodruff singled home Jack Ready with the winning run in the ninth inning to give Lowell a 7 to 6 win over Eliot.
In softball, Chuck Brynteson pitched and batted Dunster to a 3 to 0 triumph over Kirkland. Brynteson gave up only three hits and knocked in the eventual winning run with a first-inning single. Meanwhile, Leverett's softball team put on a power display to crush Adams, 11 to 2.
