Radcliffe's kitchen staff yesterday won the union contract it has been negotiating for since November.
Recognition of the union came from the Annex administration earlier this week and Josephine Coleman affixed her signature to the contract on behalf of the maids at a meeting last night. The contract will go into effect July 1, the beginning of the 'Cliffe fiscal year.
None of the union's terms were turned down by the administration, Miss Coleman said. A 42 hour week, sick leaves carrying over from year to year, and two weeks' vacation with pay all gained acceptance. Those working only one semester will have a week's vacation paid.
The Building Service Employees International of the AFL, to which the male members of the dormitory staff also belong will operate as a union shop. There will be two full time maids in each dorm. Accommodators, those working a 20 hour week or more, will be given 30 days to join the union. Radcliffe will retire those over 65 years of age.
