Five hundred more men have applied to the Harvard Medical School this year than applied last, the Admissions Office revealed last night.
Many of the 1,600 applicants are juniors who have decided to skip their last year of undergraduate work in order to avoid the draft. Only two years of undergraduate work, if they include the science requirements, are necessary for admission to the medical school.
The extra applications have come in since November 21, at which time the School anticipated a number only slightly higher than last year's.
