Conant Will Head Education Group

President Conant was elected chairman of the Educational Policies Commission, the National Educational Association announced Friday at Washington.

Established in 1935 by the latter group and the American Association of School Administrators, the Commission is composed of 20 leading educators. It issues periodic statements on education policies.

In June, 1949, the Commission which President Conant now heads, urged a ban on Communist teachers in schools and colleges. General Dwight D. Eisenhower was also a member of the group.
