Gas, Driver's Licenses Now Cost More Here

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

It will cost students approximately one and a half cents more to drive to Wellesley in the future, providing their cars can make 15 miles to the gallon.

Responsible for the increase in expenses for the 17-mile jaunt is a bill, signed into law yesterday by Governor Paul A. Dever, raising the state gasoline tax from three to 4.3 cents a gallon.

In addition, the new law raises drivers' license fees from four to five dollars for two years and adds a dollar and a half for passenger registration fees.

From every standpoint, bicycles appear to be the vehicles of the future.
