Kutcher, Legless Vet, Charges U.S. Is Using Police State Methods

"My rights are more important than my legs," declared James Kutcher, legless veteran in a speech sponsored by the Harvard Liberal Union in Leverett Junior Common Room last night. Kutcher was dismissed from his job as a clerk for the Veterans Administration by the VA Loyalty Board because of his membership in the Socialist Workers Party.

His speech blasted "the mad dogs of reaction" who, he said, are seeking to create a "police state" in America. The government is pursuing this policy because it is attempting a war of conquest and can not afford to have its strategy criticized, Kutcher declared.
