LIVE UPDATES: Pro-Palestine Protesters Begin Encampment in Harvard Yard
Tomatoes, deflated tires, and the jeers of almost 200 students greeted a Dever-Kennedy sound car when it entered Harvard Square at 4:30 p.m. yesterday.
The auto, coming from the direction of Central Square, stopped in front of Wigglesworth Hall near Lamont Library. The occupant of the auto began proclaiming Dever's merits over a blaring loudspeaker.
But after a few moments, an elderly woman spectator entered the Harvard Spa, opposite Lamont Liberary, purchased some tomatoes, and hurled them at the sound truck. A crowd congregated and overflowed into Massachusetts Avenue, stalling traffic.
