Radcliffe education students, and others interested is the teaching profession, will apply for an official club charter in the near future, it was learned last night.
Under the name of the Pro-Teaching Society, the purpose of the group will be primarily to "create interest in teaching among liberal arts students." Dean Kerby-Miller stated yesterday.
The group, which is open to all under-graduates except freshmen, is now being run by a voluntary student committee engaged in drawing up a constitution. Members of the society attended a meeting at the Harvard Graduate School of Education yesterday to inspect the work of the elementary school teachers training program instituted this year.
At present, the society consists of 30 Cliffedwellers who conceived the idea of such an organization upon the suggestion of Dean Kenby-Miller last fall.
