Carnegie Corporation Tests Student Opinion On Draft and Values

More than half of the 500 students chosen by the University yesterday filled out questionnaires on their attitudes concerning military service and educational values.

Sponsored by the Carnegie Corporation, the poll was administered at student communities throught the country. Approximately 5,000 men filled out the anonymous questionnaires. The study is being made to aid colleges in understanding the feelings of their students. . .

Questions were aimed at discovering how undergraduates feel about entering the service, whether they think college deferments are fair, and whether impending duty has made them change their values and occupational plans.

Further queries probed actual knowledge of the world situation. The questioners want to know whether undergraduates feel involved personally in America's international goals.
