Mrs. Maynard Pressured Out Of Post as HUERA President

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"Persecution and abuse from an anonymous source" have caused Mrs. Helen Maynard to resign from her post as president of the Harvard University Employees Representative Association, she revealed last night.

Mrs. Maynard, who became president in April after the resignation of Elwyn Wyman, said "this undue criticism is ruining my health."

Francis McNamara, HUERA secretary, who holds Mrs. Maynard's letter of resignation, declined to make it public at this time. "Mr. Wyman had an opportunity to come before the HUERA board with his complaints," McNamara said. "Mrs. Maynard will be given the same opportunity."

General Election Due

Mrs. Maynard has indicated that she will appear at the meeting and expand on her charges. Her letters will be made available at that time.

Since Mrs. Maynard did not appoint a vice-president during her term, a general election of Harvard employees will be held soon to fill the presidency.

Mrs. Maynard is the third president of HUERA in less than eight months. Daniel G. Mulvihill, president of the union for 12 years, was voted out of office last April.
