Johnny Lee Beaten In AAU Semi-Finals

A high point total forced wrestling Captain Johnny Lee from the National A.A.U. Wrestling Tournament Saturday after he reached the semi-final round. There he lost in a last minute pin to Dick Hauser of the U.S. Air Force. Hauser went on to win his fourth National A.A.U. 125-pound championship, a title Lee held in 1951.

Lee won four straight matches before meeting Hauser. In the first round he decisioned Gil Hanley of the Baltimore Y.M.C.A. He pinned his second-round opponent in six minutes, then went on to pin his third man in 30 seconds. Lee decisioned his fourth round opponent.

Hauser, who graduated from Cornell College of Iowa in 1950, was National Intercollegiate 123-pound Champion in 1948, '49, and '50. Lee said that Hauser is the "toughest guy" he has ever wrestled.
