Dunn Claims Criticism Of Admission Policy Was Not Intentional

Statements he made at a Law School Forum on "Crisis in Education" last Friday did not imply a criticism of University admissions policies, a Boston school official said last night. Lee J. Dunn, senior adviser at Boston Latin School, was reported as saying the University was passing up local students to get the cream of the West Coast.

"What I said was no criticism of Harvard's admissions policy or of the National Scholarship Board," Dunn said. "Time had to be short. I probably talked faster than I usually do, and it may well be that I could have been misunderstood. . . . If there was any misunderstanding I cleared it up when I talked to President Pusey afterwards."

Dunn said his concern was the vast influx of students in colleges.
