Garden Reimposes Student Liquor Ban

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Boston Garden will close its beer stands during college hockey games this winter for the second straight year. The liquor ban will also extend to spectators who may attempt to bring liquor to the game.

Walter Brown, president of the Garden, announced yesterday that he is making the move "in the best interests of the Garden." Brown made the ruling plaints about under-age drinking at college hockey games, including one from the Alcoholic Beverages Commission.

Brown said that the difficulty of checking ages in a predominantly college crowd, and the banning by Boston College and Harvard of liquor at their home football games were the main reasons for the ruling.
