Heavy steel beams that will support the roof of the Donald C. Watson hockey rink began to rise over Soldiers Field on Monday. The roof is expected to be completed by the opening varsity practice Nov. 15, but the walls, dressing rooms, and stands will not be finished until a later date.

The gift stipulated that the rink be named after Watson's brother, who played on the Crimson football team as an undergraduate.
