Ski Team Will Race Again at Winter Festival

The varsity ski team will compete against top American and Canadian skiers at the Dartmouth Winter Carnival in February for the first time since 1952, Captain Ebbe Dane announced yesterday.

Dartmouth invited the seven senior division teams of the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association.

Harvard qualified for the senior division of the EISA by placing second in the Lydonville invitation Meet last winter against the member colleges in the junior division. The Crimson skiers also beat Princeton and Yale in the annual Harvard-Tale-Princeton Slalom on Mt. Washington late last spring.

Lack of experienced downhill and slalom racers may hinder the team's chances of duplicating last year's record in tournament competition this year. Varsity Coach Graham Taylor described last year's showing as one of the best since the war.

The Five returning letterman: seniors Fred Churchill and Captain Dane, juniors Pete Churchill, Lindsay Fischer, and Jack Vohr, and last year's freshman captain, Joe Poindexter, will give strength to the cross country events.
