Twenty of the 70 male General Motors National Scholars chose Harvard this fall. Since General motors provides money for two additional scholarships, the College leads the country with 22 G.M. scholars. M.I.T. has the second largest number, 14 nine of which are National Scholars.

Each student received a scholarship based on need, while the Faculty of Arts and Sciences receives $800 for each student.

The scholarship program commenced last year with national screening and testing of promising high school seniors. A total of 100 students, both male and female, received scholarships, to any accredited college in the country.
