To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
In accordance with what is considered the best "mass-media" policy, the Episcopal Theological School and the University's Government Department have scheduled respectively Arnold Toynbee and Andro Siegfried to speak tonight at 8 p.m. As a reader of the middle class Luce publication, Time, I wonder if these schools haven't been unduly influenced by that magazine's expose of the current NBC-CBS Television talent duel, which involves putting their respective strongest Nielson-rated programs on at the same hours. Perhaps all can be explained in that the Government Department, although late in arriving on the scene, is waging a big campaign to get the confused undergraduate to switch his channel, for once "tuned in," it is probably supposed that they will deggedly trudge to other attractions.
