Princeton's quintet, paced by Hal Haabestad's 23 points, outclassed Columbia 86-69 last night to win the Ivy League basketball title.

Outdriving, outshooting, and out-rebounding Columbia for almost the entire way, Princeton emerged with the league title after the first triple tie in the league's 53-year history. Columbia had eliminated Penn Monday night after the three teams ended the season with 10-4 records.

Whenever Columbia threatened to out the Tiger lead, Princeton surged out of reach by driving repeatedly across the foul circle for jump shots.
