The fencing team traveled to New York yesterday to participate in the Eastern Intercollegiate Fencing Association's annual championship tournament. The Crimson will compete with 11 other teams for the championship which was shared last year by Navy and Columbia.

Columbia and Navy both defeated the Crimson when the team traveled to New York for three matches earlier this season. Columbia won in a dual meet, 17 to 10, and the Navy team triumphed in the four-team Tetragonal meet in which the Crimson finished last.

Entries in this afternoon's epee competitions will be Bill Pierskalla, Walt Rawis, and Bob Scrivner. Dave Kenney, John Livingston, and John Craig will take part in the sabre event, which begins tonight and concludes tomorrow. Captain Paul Forand, Steve Schneider, and Jim Harrison will comprise the foil contingent in tomorrow afternoon's final bouts.
